ServiceNow Operational Sustainability Management helps organizations manage, visualize, and report on sustainability efforts and risks across environmental, social, and governance (ESG) programs. The application simplifies sustainability management by bringing data collection, organization, and storage into a single system. It also automates dashboards and reports for internal stakeholders and supports disclosure requirements aligned with leading sustainability standards and frameworks, including CSRD/ESRS, GRI, SASB, UN SDGs, TCFD, and SustainableIT.org.
Operationalizing sustainability across the enterprise
Operational Sustainability Management uses the platform's workflow and automation capabilities to operationalize sustainability across the enterprise. Functional owners get access to enterprise data, analytics, and insights, so they can take an active role in sustainability programs. Core teams can then focus on program execution, compliance, and reporting, while the wider organization stays engaged with sustainability objectives.
Seamless user experience
The application simplifies collecting data from internal stakeholders, tracking metric collection activities, and monitoring goals through dedicated dashboards. It also supports generating reports and disclosures through multiple channels. Users can generate reports in .xls format directly from Operational Sustainability Management, or use the Microsoft 365 integration to embed and format metric data in Microsoft Word documents. With this integration, reports include current sustainability data.
Pre-configured content packs
Content packs include sustainability metrics aligned to GRI (505), TCFD (55), SASB (338), and the UN SDGs (400), plus sector-specific metric definitions for TCFD and SASB. CSRD/ESRS and SustainableIT.org frameworks are available through the Content Accelerator.
Robust workflow platform
Built on the ServiceNow AI Platform, Operational Sustainability Management provides workflow capabilities that make sustainability processes traceable and auditable. Transactions, including metric data tasks, maintain an audit trail, and changes and approvals are stored on the associated metric data records. Organizations can combine data from ServiceNow applications and other connected data sources to support sustainability reporting, assurance activities, and decision-making.
