The CMDB CI Class Models app is the single source for all new base-system CMDB CI class models defined by ServiceNow.
The app provides customers and ISV partners with classes for the Discovery and Service Mapping Patterns apps.
Use the app to obtain and make use of newer class models at a faster pace than with regular family releases.

The “Business Process Activity” CI class includes new activity types that represent additional BPMN 2.0 standard elements to support detailed and accurate process maps. (The existing class supported a limited set of activity types, restricting complex process modeling.) The class also includes a new field to support more comprehensive BPMN modeling.
- Activity types are relabeled for clarity (for example, “User” is renamed to “User Task”).
- Four new activity types are added to conform with OMG standards: Script Task, Business Rule Task, Send Task, and Receive Task.
- The new “Activity Marker” choice list field includes BPMN symbols that convey additional behavioral information: Multi Instance Parallel, Multi Instance Sequential, Compensation, and Loop and Compensation.

- Due to the addition of a non-null persistence_type column to the cmdb_ci_vm_object class, upgrading the CMDB CI Class Models app was slow for larger instances. The issue is fixed in the current version. The recommendation is to skip older versions of the app and upgrade directly to this version.
